The old becomes new and the new becomes old.  I love this section of 1 John, retelling of that great commandment...to love one another.  Nothing new...yet it is new.  Each day.  Jesus lived the truth of this commandment (by healing, teaching, loving others)....and we do too!

This is where the rubber hits the road, as they say. As Allen Iverson made it clear so many years ago...it is practice.  Practice what we believe is shown forth in the lives we live. "
If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness." (1 John 2:9) We cannot love one another when our hearts are filled with hate.

Practicing faith and the new commandment is being engaged in the acts of love in relationship with God and in relationship with one another.  Being in authentic relationship with one another is a product of being in authentic relationship with God.  All based in Love.  Being grounded in the love relationship from above we can share with others.
