2 Kings 4:8-37 Click here for the reading  Participating in the healing of God's people is an AMAZING thing! Today (Sunday) we experienced God's healing as the invitation was extended for anyone to come forward to hear words of healing, laying on of hands, and anointing. As I read this healing story in reflection of the power of God's healing touch, I am AMAZED. I weep in resonance of the healing I have experienced and also weep with those who experience such pain.
"Embrace your son." Powerful words in powerful witness. The gift of a son is unexpected for the Shunammite woman. That gift then is ripped out of her life. She didn't ask for this. She even told him that she was content, she had everything she needed. Yet the prophet shows care for her, only as God could care for her. Elisha shows God's further care by restoring her son back to her. (God continues to do this even when it is God's only Son, Jesus). The restoration of life is part of the healing process. Today I was amazed at the amount of people that came forward to receive healing, almost the entire assembly! We need healing in big ways! Lord speak to our brokenness, the death we experience, the hurts of our hearts, he dis-ease we carry, the anxiety that fills us. Heal us Lord!
