In 2025, St. Mark’s Quilters have had a busy and productive year with over 500 quilts, lap robes, and baby quilts made by our joyful crew. We distributed these warm hugs to about 33 organizations in our community. St. Mark’s Quilters met 31 times between October 28, 2024 and November 3, 2025. We completed 361 twin-size and 166 child/lap size quilts for a total of 527 quilts. This year the Quilters were honored with the “2025 Community Angel Award” for their donations to the Christmas Clearing Council Toy Shop.
During the year, and especially after Quilt Sunday, quilts were donated to organizations such as: Lutheran World Relief (21 quilts), Bethany Recovery Center- Oconomowoc, Christmas Clearing Council, Hope Center, Family Promise, Joy House (Milwaukee Rescue Mission), Community Smiles Dental Clinic, Chosen in Love (for foster families), Spring City Corner Clubhouse, St. Mark’s Neighborhood Block Party, Wisconsin Community Services, Tricia’s Troops (for cancer patients), and Whitestone Warriors. Patriotic quilts will be donated this November to the Elks for their Fall Veterans’ Celebration. Quilts were donated to auctions to raise funds for SOPHIA, Zonta Foundation for Women and Girls, Hope Center, WCS and other events. Quilts were given to St. Mark’s members for special occasions such as graduations, baptisms, and to comfort people dealing with serious illness or the loss of a loved one.
