Genesis 9:18-28 click here for the readings

Naked often = shame in the bible.  When Adam and Eve learned of their nakedness they were ashamed and covered themselves.  Uncovering the nakedness of one's father is also against Levitical law (Leviticus 18:7-8).  Looking on his nakedness suggests that there was some sexual impropriety on Ham's behalf and thus Noah curses his son Ham.

That is important to note because Ham discovering of his father's nakedness leads to him being cursed and becoming servant to his blessed brothers, including Shem.  Ham, as explained, is the father of the land of Canaan.  Shem will be the ancestor to Abraham. Allowing us to begin to unfold the narrative of Abraham leaving his home land and being sent into the land of Canaan.

Fascinating aspects of the Bible. Here's to praying attention.
